Everything you need to know about our products, shipping, and ordering.
E942 is the European food additive code for nitrous oxide (N2O). All our cream chargers contain 99.9% pure food-grade E942, certified for professional culinary use including whipping cream, creating foams, and infusing flavours.
A 640g cylinder replaces approximately 80 standard 8g cream chargers. A 666g cylinder replaces approximately 83 chargers. The 2000g Maxxi replaces around 250 standard chargers.

The Sixth Wave Edition is the latest generation of the Cream Deluxe Maxxi 2000g. It features an upgraded valve design for smoother gas flow, improved sealing, reinforced materials, and a built-in carrying handle.
Yes. All flavoured variants (Blueberry, Coconut, Double Apple, etc.) use food-grade flavouring combined with 99.9% pure E942 N2O. They meet the same safety and purity standards as the unflavoured versions.
For 8g cartridges: fill the dispenser with chilled liquid (no more than two-thirds full), screw the head on tightly, insert a cartridge into the holder and screw until you hear the gas release, shake vigorously 3-4 times, turn the dispenser nozzle-down, and press the lever. For large-format cylinders: attach the pressure regulator to the cylinder valve, connect the dispenser to the regulator output, open the cylinder valve slowly, set the gauge to 6-8 bar for whipped cream, charge the dispenser, then close the valve.
Store cylinders upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep them at temperatures between 0°C and 50°C. Do not store near open flames or in enclosed vehicles during hot weather. Unused cartridges should remain in their original packaging until use. Once a large-format cylinder is opened and fitted with a regulator, keep the valve closed between uses and store in the same conditions.
Sealed N2O cream chargers — both 8g cartridges and large-format cylinders — have a long shelf life when stored correctly. The gas does not degrade or lose purity over time. Most manufacturers specify a shelf life of 5 years from the production date, which is stamped on each cylinder or printed on the cartridge box. Ensure the seal is intact and there are no signs of corrosion before use.
Both steel and aluminium cylinders are fully recyclable through standard metal recycling streams. Before recycling a large-format cylinder, ensure it is completely depressurised — open the valve with the regulator attached until the gauge reads zero, then remove the regulator. For 8g cartridges, they are depressurised after use in the dispenser. Check your local council’s metal recycling guidelines — most accept both steel and aluminium in household recycling or at scrap metal collection points.
The 640g (FlavourWhip or CDL Gold) and 666g (Cream Deluxe) are mid-size cylinders best for restaurants, cafés, and caterers using one to two cylinders per week. The 666g is available in flavoured variants; the CDL Gold 640g is aluminium (lighter). The 2000g Maxxi is for high-volume operations — hotel breakfast services, banquet kitchens, commercial production — where you would otherwise cycle through multiple smaller cylinders per shift. Cost per gram decreases as cylinder size increases, so choose the largest format that matches your weekly usage.
Steel cylinders (FlavourWhip 640g, CDL 666g, CDL Maxxi 2000g) are generally less expensive per gram and extremely durable. Aluminium cylinders (CDL Gold 640g, Smartwhip Silver 580g) are significantly lighter, which matters for mobile catering, food trucks, and operations where staff carry cylinders frequently. Aluminium also offers superior corrosion resistance and is highly efficient to recycle. Both materials perform identically in terms of gas purity and dispensing quality. Choose steel for stationary, cost-sensitive use; aluminium for portability and weight savings.
Every large-format cylinder (640g, 666g, 580g, and 2000g) ships with a free pressure release nozzle and a protective cap with factory seal. The nozzle is used for safe depressurisation when the cylinder is empty. A pressure regulator — the piece that controls gas flow into your cream dispenser — is not included and must be purchased separately. We sell the CDL Precision Pressure Regulator, which is compatible with all cylinders in our range.
No. SodaStream and similar carbonation devices use CO2 (carbon dioxide) to carbonate water. Our cream chargers contain N2O (nitrous oxide, E942), which is a completely different gas used for whipping cream, creating foams, and infusing flavours. The two gases are not interchangeable, the cylinder fittings are different, and using the wrong gas in any device is unsafe. If you need carbonation, use a CO2 cylinder designed for your specific carbonation machine.
N2O cream charger cylinders are designed for use at ambient temperatures between 0°C and 40°C. Storage is safe up to 50°C. Never expose cylinders to temperatures above 50°C, open flames, or direct sustained sunlight, as internal pressure increases with temperature. Do not freeze cylinders below −10°C. In winter, allow a cold cylinder to reach room temperature before use — very cold gas can affect cream texture and dispenser performance.
All large-format cylinders in our range use the standard cream charger cylinder valve thread. This is consistent across the FlavourWhip 640g, Cream Deluxe 666g, CDL Gold 640g, Smartwhip Silver 580g, and Cream Deluxe Maxxi 2000g. The CDL Precision Pressure Regulator and other widely available N2O cylinder regulators fit this thread without adaptors. Standard 8g cartridges use the universal 8g format that fits all cream dispensers on the market.
Thread the CDL Precision Regulator onto the cylinder valve hand-tight. Connect your cream dispenser to the regulator’s output port. Open the cylinder valve slowly — a quarter turn is enough to start. The pressure gauge will show the output pressure; adjust to 6-8 bar for standard whipped cream, or 4-5 bar for lighter foams. Charge your dispenser, then close the cylinder valve. Between uses, always close the valve to preserve gas. When switching cylinders, close the valve, release residual pressure via the regulator bleed, unthread, and reattach to the new cylinder.
The most common cause is cream with insufficient fat content — use heavy or double cream with at least 30% fat (ideally 33-36%). Cream must be well chilled before loading. Do not overfill the dispenser past the two-thirds mark, as the gas needs room to expand and integrate. Shake vigorously at least 3-4 times after charging. If using a large-format cylinder, check the regulator gauge reads at least 6 bar. If the cream is watery or flat, the cartridge may not have pierced fully — try a fresh cartridge. Old or warm cream, a worn gasket in the dispenser head, or low gas pressure are the usual culprits.
Yes — this is one of the most popular professional applications beyond whipped cream. Rapid infusion uses pressurised N2O to force flavours into liquids in minutes rather than days. Place your liquid and aromatic ingredients (herbs, spices, fruit) in the siphon, charge with N2O, shake, let it sit for 1-2 minutes, then vent the gas quickly. The rapid pressure change drives the flavours deep into the liquid. This technique works for infusing cocktails, oils, vinegars, syrups, and sauces. N2O siphons are also used for hot and cold espumas, aerated desserts, and foamed soups.
ADR (Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route) is the European agreement governing road transport of dangerous goods. N2O cream chargers are classified as pressurised gas, which requires specific packaging, labelling, and transport procedures. All our shipments are handled by carriers certified for ADR transport, with proper hazmat documentation. This means shipments travel by road only — no air freight — which is why delivery takes 2-7 business days rather than next-day. The ADR requirement also means delivery to some islands, remote areas, and P.O. boxes may not be possible.
